The First Finance Company was established in November 1999, to be the first finance company in the State of Qatar to be subject to the supervision of the Qatar Central Bank. The company started its business with a capital of 50 million Qatari riyals in 1999, and in 2009 it reached 639 million Qatari riyals. In 2010, Dukhan Bank acquired 100% of the company's shares in a move aimed at strengthening its role as a prominent player in the local market.
